Definitely one of the best buffets around, massive choice of cold dishes to-order hot ones. Service this time was a step above our previous visits; led by the wonderful Aleni, it was attentive without being obsequious, our glasses were never empty. This is a wonderful place.
We have had great experiences here before but what a let down our most recent visit was. Many of the staff came across as rushed and not really interested in providing a good experience. The usual defence is but it was really busy , but as a Service Director I know that is never an acceptable excuse. While the salad bar and sides remain good, the meats on this visit felt to be quite poor, with a lot of spoil and gristle. I pushed aside about half the meat I was served, which was really disappointing. The cocktails, too, felt uninspired, and were served in small glasses. To cap a wonderful evening, when we asked for the dessert menus, somebody kindly told us they wanted the table back in 20 minutes. This has never happened at Fazenda before, and a strict 2 hours just isn 't right when you 're heading towards a £200 bill and have young children. On our last visit (in Liverpool), we stayed 2.5 hours without any issues. It feels so lacking in class for staff to be saying they want the table back when you 've been there 1 hour 40 minutes and you 're spending so much. While we may give the excellent Liverpool branch another try, I suspect we 'll be avoiding the Leeds location in future.
I’m a massive fan of Fazenda, but this visit really disappointed us. As the most upmarket Rodizio experience available, we’ve always been excited to take the trip from our home of Derby to Leeds to experience the opulence of the Fazenda Experience. Unfortunately, it’s now become both expensive for what it is, and in our opinion taking liberties with customers. £48.50 for a Saturday evening per person is now extortionate especially as all you get is Beef. We asked numerous times for other cuts of meat and did manage to get a slice of the Lamb rump as a last ditch attempt after asking for something else other than the numerous cuts of Beef which basically taste the same. Whilst the menu boasts chicken, pork and gammon. This never appeared. Another annoyance is the hidden £1 fee for some charity which is charged within the details of your meal and nowhere is it stated you’ll pay this prior to it being inside the bill. Only reading the small print about this charge does it state it’s optional and from its appearance amongst the drinks food items it looks like it’s forced. Since the ‘optional’ service charge is separated under the total any charitable donation should be too. All in all, we left feeling rather deflated and to be fair, robbed of £130 for a beef salad and a coke and glass of rose.
We used to come here quite frequently before Covid but some how got out of the habit of going into the city centre. Whilst the 'mess ' with the road network being created by the council meant we had to get a taxi rather than drive, we were keen to return here. We were pleased to see that the salad bar had returned as I understand it was removed during restrictions and not re-instated for some time. A few improvements have been introduced including the ability to order side dishes. In the past we did not always receive chips as we were bypassed but this is overcome by the ordering system which is great. As always the service was good, although the servers only seemed to acknowledge our request for rare cuts for 3 of us and ignored the more well done request of the 4th person at the table. My score is set low as good service and process improvements cannot overcome poor quality meat. Several cuts resulted in tough gristly meat. I appreciate some of the tougher cuts need more cooking but this should not be the case with the fillet. I could not even cut it with the steak knife, either we were misinformed as to which cut it was or the fillet was extremely tough. All 4 people in our booking agreed the flavour and quality was not as anticipated. The evening was something we were all looking forward to but was such a disappointment.
Returned after a long absence. Excellent as ever. Went at lunchtime but just as good as in the evening and a bit cheaper. Addition of sides gives you even more of an excuse to overindulge. Felt quite ill from overeating when we got home. But in a good way. Wife agreed that it is something to do twice a year at most so as to do it justice. Staff were amazing and even comped us dessert as it was our anniversary. It’s a YES from me! Wholeheartedly recommend.
