Finally a Venezuelan restaurant!! And a really good one! If you haven't given this place a chance yet, please do this quickly. Do not miss the Tequeños (they are these cheese sticks from the sky) or the Pernil sándwich (Pork Sandwich, das?s bomb.com). We ordered everything to go and it smells so good in the car that we just ate it before we move on to our highway. You also do to go family size regulations for different house meals as well as if you simply don't like cooking dinner and still want a warm house cooked meal; the Pasticho is my favorite of those. It is essentially a lasagna loaded with meat, please. We?ll def will meet this place again very soon!
I was on the hunt for a Venezuelan restaurant in the KCI area, and I struck gold! This place is fantastic. The food is both delicious and authentic—every bite made me feel like I was back home. Their tequeños, empanadas, and arepas are absolutely amazing. The service was wonderful; the owner (I assume) treated me like an old friend—super friendly and dedicated. I will definitely be returning, and I hope to bring some friends along next time!
On our wedding day, Carolina insisted that we return their chafing dishes immediately, contrary to the agreement that they would pick them up later during the reception when they delivered the food. We obliged, which was quite inconvenient. To make matters worse, she arrived 40 minutes late to the reception with the food. Throughout our correspondence, they consistently blamed us for the issues and defended their service as flawless. While the food is decent, the owner’s unprofessional and difficult demeanor makes the experience less enjoyable. There are plenty of other Venezuelan dining options in Kansas City, and I suggest trying those first. I would recommend steering clear of Carora for any event.
I'm thrilled we discovered this restaurant. The food was outstanding, and the owner was very friendly and enjoyable to chat with. We tried both the Arepas and Empanadas, and each had fantastic flavor and texture. They are currently open only for lunch, but I highly recommend visiting!
