Wife and I ordered their lobster burger special for $17.99 You get a plain white hamburger bun with about two tablespoons of lobster meat mixed with mayo, celery and a small piece of head lettuce. We didn't want fries, which was a good thing considering that they serve crappy crinkle-cut frozen fries where all the other places serve hand-cut PEI potatoes. They charged another $2 for a salad instead of fries! I opted for potato salad which was just ok. The plate was quite bare otherwise, with a very small scoop of coleslaw. The kids meal did not include anything extra, not even a vegetable as a side. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but the food was sub-par considering their prices.
The menu said Beef Stew. There was no beef stew. Also very strange that in a "seafood centre" of PEI, you couldn't get seafood chowder. They have corner wall speakers only with local no-good radio station **** noise and no-good commercials.French Fries are the too greasy frozen produced. They should offer hand cut fries.
This restaurant was out of the way from where we were staying, but, because of all the good reviews about their breakfast, we went there to try it out. We went there for breakfast every day we were on the island 4 day. You have your choice of sausage, ham or bacon. You get 4 sausages, or 3 slices of ham or 4 or 5 slices of bacon. Their hash browns aren't like most , those cube ones, but rather real potatoes fried up with onions. The meals were quick and hot. They also have lots to choose from if you are going there for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend it.
Have eaten quite regularly at the Bay all three trips to PEI and have found the food good and people friendly. Is a great place to run into friends and family. Had a nice meal out with friends this time and everything was great. They make a good pizza.
Only 3 other tables with patrons (2 - eating, 1- coffee.) Our food took a long time. My hubby and I had fish and chips. Coleslaw was delish. Chips were dry and warm. The batter was different, breaded, hard, not tasty. The fish inside was good-fresh hot. One piece was wet from the pool of water from the vegetables. The carrots and peas were cold, there was not enough heat in them to call them warm. Waitress never brought our gravy. The veggies were from a bag of frozen veggies, disappointing. Peel some fresh carrots folks and use quality delicious frozen peas. The waitress was pleasant, although not a good waitress by any means. Her response to cold veggies was "oh, ok." Went to pay, another gal busy chatting with a friend. I stepped up then stepped back, she smiled, said come ahead, rang us in as she continued talk to friend, said thank you. Would have liked to tell her not to charge for the gravy but she was only interested in chatting to her friend. The smiling staff we encountered need customer service training. The cook perhaps needs to focus more. The owner, are you even present?
