Dad's Favorites Deli - Lexington

Papa?s favorite is really our FAVORITE! The food is incredibly delicious and the service is top-notch! The owner himself (Dad) is always there, serves males and chatting. You're all so kind and I love... food and that suits this bill. My darling? Special days? are Monday and Tuesday, but must say every day, I go, my food is AMAZING!

Great hole-in-the-wall (that?s a compliment). We look to stop at unique restaurants when we travel, and we found this gem. Great sandwiches and we had in depth conversations with Dad himself. We will be back even though it?s 20 minutes out of the way. Totally worth it!

Dad's Favorites Deli never disappoints. Every time I?ve enjoyed a meal here it?s been extraordinary. The hustle and bustle of the place is always so intoxicating, yet so warm and welcoming. Everyone seems to ask how you are and welcomes you in with a smile. Chipotle cheddar and roast beef served on ciabatta bread and Au Jus always hits the spot. The sultry sauce leads way to the crispy toasted bread smothered in tart chipotle sauce marrying perfectly to the decadent roast beef. Dipping the Sammy in the Au Jus brings everything together to make one warm messy bite that makes for a true comfort food experience. Bravo Dad. You continue to kill it!

You have to remember, the food is the draw. This is not a sit down and relax atmosphere. There is seating inside an old fashioned mall, plus a few picnic tables in the rear parking lot. It can get busy around noontime, so be prepared to wait for a table or take it to go. The sandwiches and sides are top notch. I've never been disappointed. Plus, Dad's signature spreads can be purchased. Stamping Ground Cheddar Spread is my favorite.

For those unfamiliar with Dad?s, one could think ?What?s the big deal about this little hole in the wall restaurant? Why are all these people lined up out the door in a strip mall for a sandwich?? But make no mistake my friend, this isn?t just any ol? sandwich shop. It has some of the best cheese spreads in Kentucky, or maybe even in the US or the planet perhaps?it?s sooo good just saying. Ordered the Smoky Pimento BLT for lunch (pictured here). A little slice of heaven it did not disappoint. I recommend doubling the amount of pimento cheese though. Crazy good sandwich.
