The food is inexpensive and the restaurant itself is very small. It is also a bit out of the way, but a great place to visit when you are in the area of Boston.
Just good food. There is nothing fancy about this place. Sometimes I don't know why we always eat here. Bur my wife loves the chicken parm, and the pizza with everything is pretty good. The pizza crust is not the traditional NY style thin crust, but not as thick as Chicago style. However, it's simple and good, price is right and it is always busy here. This place has been here forever and will probably be so too. Buca di peppo, or whatever it's called is coming to town... It better watch out for some tough competition.
It's not fancy, it's not expensive, it's not quiet and it's not big. It's just Mario's and it's the best. I've been going there for 30(!!! years now since back when I was stealing bread off neighbor's tables as a toddler. I recommend any of the Parms (chicken, veal or eggplant or the Lasagna.
First time experience and it definitely has a cozy local Italian vibe. The chicken parmigiana was crisp and juicy and the lasagna had a perfect combination of meat and sauce.
We were visiting Lexington for the Revolutionary War history. We needed somewhere to eat lunch and picked Mario’s. So glad we did! We had pasta with meatballs and chicken parmesan. Everything was delicious…especially the sauce and meatballs! It was very busy when we were there, but the service was great and the food came out quickly! The prices are very affordable…especially the lunch specials! So glad we had lunch here!
