The Root Cellar - Lexington

The atmosphere and the food here have to be disappointed. I had the fried chicken sandwich for the first time. The piece of chicken was just the right amount crispy with the whole alertness still there while completely cooked by. They add a honey drop sauce to the chicken... It was amazing. Love your modern/farmhouse decor!

We came here last minute and could sit right away. Our server was great and very attentive. We enjoyed everything we had. I understand inflation, but one of the salads seemed a little expensive for the amount of chicken that was on it. Otherwise everything was delicious and we had a great experience.

Besides being a little loud, it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant was clean. The food was great and our waiter was excellent considering that 9 of us were. The prices are fair. Management was for our big group. The atmosphere was beautiful, the decor is cute, and the bathroom was clean. I'll go.

The best local food I found. Everything is mostly homemade with incredible taste. Anyway, I'll be back soon.

On Thursday, July 14, 2022, I had the good fortune of having dinner here with my brother and his wife while they were in town. Our visit was the spur of the moment with an hour and a half before closing. I did not know this until I called and was told that as long as we arrived before closing, we would be seated. This right here created my first thought of just how awesome this place had to be?but of course, we arrived much sooner than that. When we exited our vehicles, my brother stated how he knew this was good food coming because the smell was in the air from the parking lot! Two plates of fish and chips, shrimp and grits, fried chicken livers, green beans, collards, carrot cake and some drinks later, we began to slip into the southern cooking coma! Our server was very pleasant, easy to talk to and we couldn?t have asked for a better representative for that restaurant. The Root Cellar is my new favorite place. I am so disappointed in myself in that I always venture out to other areas when the diamond in the rough is right here in my own backyard. If you visit this establishment, please?please don?t pass up the opp for tasty, tender chicken livers that you will NEVER find any where else! Guaranteed! Love this place??
