Lizzie Drakes - Lisburn

I am always surprised that there are no comments in the reviews about how dirty this place is. I jokingly refer to it as "Dirty Drakes"! I went for dinner with my family and we were seated by the constantly opened door, with cold air blasting in. The table was sticky and there were remnants of someone else's meal on the seating. The boys ordered mixed grills and steaks, which looked good and were large portions. There are no vegetarian options and not much selection if you don't like meat or deep-fried food. The serving staff seemed glum and did not engage in any conversation. Also, if you don't have cash to pay with, you will need to go on a bit of a journey to find some. The restaurant could really use a renovation or at least a deep clean.

The food at Lizzie Drakes is consistently delicious and of high quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant is freezing, with diners wearing their coats inside. The experience was absolutely terrible. The chef should consider finding a new location as the owner shows no interest in creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers.

We decided to go to Lizzie Drakes for our lunch to celebrate our 20yr anniversary,as we have never eaten there before,despite living in the area. We had checked the reviews and all but one,were very promising. Some mentioned about the smoke from the open fireplace,and I must admit,at times it was smokey,but we found that this fitted in perfectly with the setting and it in no way annoyed us,in fact it was the complete opposite. I decided to have a starter and went for the soup of the day(vegetable) and it was absolutely delicious. Linda decided to opt for an omelette as her main,which was amazing. Our son had a burger,which he really enjoyed. I,myself opted for the sirloin steak and peppered sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce delicious. Desserts were to die for. As for the service we received, it was fast,pleasant and very very efficient. As a family we really enjoyed our experience at Lizzie Drakes and will most definitely be returning to enjoy more meals and support a locally run business

The food is excellent and the Mixed Grill is legendary. Big problems with the open fire in the middle of the bar. It's lovely when it's burning hot but when it is topped up with fuel it spews a lot of smoke out into the bar. Not very pleasant or healthy. Really needs to be sorted.
