The Stable Tea Room Speke Hall

It was a glorious sunny day when we visited Speke Hall my birthday. We had lunch which was nice but we had a while to wait as it was crowded it being the school holidays. There was a good selection of meals which were of an average price for this establishment. After looking around the Hall we went back for a pot of tea and a cake.

Called in here for food before walking round speke hall. We were served quickly and the tea room was clean and well maintained. I had a scone which was delicious my wife had a sandwich which was well filled. Lovely latte. Very enjoyable snack well worth the visit

Charming cafe with delicious fresh food and welcoming staff. However, it can get quite crowded and there may be slow waiting times in line.

Today we stopped by for a stroll and a cup of coffee. The staff were as friendly and welcoming as always. Despite the Covid-related changes, we still felt at ease and secure. Thank you to Jo and Carol, it's always a delight to be served by you. X

My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. I was part of a group of 6 and when it came to ordering, I found that there were only 3 main options available - ice cream, cakes, and chocolate bars. Due to my dietary restrictions, I asked a staff member if I could combine a few items to create a meal I could eat, as most of the food on offer was not suitable for me. I requested just the sausages from a dish that included sausages and mash, but the lady behind the counter rudely told me that she would lose out on a whole meal sale if she gave me only the sausages. When I explained that my dietary restrictions were medical, she loudly asked why I was gluten-free in front of the queue of customers behind me. I felt embarrassed and replied that it was personal, but she still refused to accommodate my request. I tried to explain the limited options for me to eat, but she dismissively told me that I would go hungry and moved on to serve the next family in line. I felt humiliated and shocked by the lack of awareness, respect, and rudeness displayed by the staff member. In the end, I paid for the rest of my party to eat while I sat without any food. This kind of treatment should not be allowed to happen to anyone else. I left the restaurant feeling angry and deeply disappointed.
