I tiny ball of rice with a 3cm piece of eel on top; $7. Are you kidding...what a rip-off The sushi rolls are small and tasteless, the sea-weed is hard, and if you place a pick up order, best to show up 20min after the expected time because it will never be ready on time and you'll have to sit and wait. Then, the front lady will realize your order has been sitting in the back for a while, but she won't check unless you ask her a repeatedly. Zen Sushi in East Hanover was the best, big full roles, fresh and never delays. When they closed-down we tried Dozo, and what a disappointment for a place that serves Livingston and for a venue that represents Japanese cuisine.
Very good sushi, probably best in the area. Our regular weekly Thursday night dinner pick is from here. However, I’m from Toronto, and unfortunately I have not found any sushi in the USA (NYC, DC, Miami etc) that compares to Toronto. I wish all US sushi chefs can see how they do it there.. I crave more flavor and ingredients in a single roll. Regardless, Dozo does a pretty good job, and for now, we will continue to buy from here. P.s, I hope they don’t get too stingy with the ingredients. I have noticed last couple times that the “Dozo roll” had double the amount of rice and barely any fish. I don’t mind paying more , but I do want better quality. And if quality drops, I’m out.
Very impressed for not Manhattan. Salmon was very fresh, rice was properly vinegared, toro was rich, eel was delicious, sea bass was amazing, TNT Truffle was a great creation. Our new go-to sushi spot, which was basically our only take out before we moved here.
Sherry!!!! The sweetest woman you'll ever meet, paired w/ food that has so much flavor. My order was straight to the point, sashimi, a bit of sushi and 1 roll. Ended up eating maybe over 20 pieces? And it was spectacular every time. These are people who take preparation seriously.Thank you for the kindness, delicious sashimi and reasonable prices. I'll have to wait before I come back otherwise 90% of my paycheck will be spent eating here for lunch/dinner lol. Can't stress enough about the fresh quality.Common sense tells you the type of fish served here is not any easy grab, which tells me a lot of care is put into the art.Looking for something different on a menu? Dozo is on point w/ bringing the unique.
