Mason's Grill - Livonia

This was a split... My wife said she did not care for her burger, said the meat had no flavor....but then again she orders everything well done; I on the other hand enjoyed it. We all got the burgers (four total), my sons was gone in less than a minute. The meat was thick and the cheese was melted all over the top. I like the onion raw with warm pickles and they give you a side tray full of them. Huge basket of fries but they were the frozen bag stuff, but had a nice crisp snap to them. The feeling in the room was older locals and the service was ok. The bathroom is spotless (I view the cleanliness of the bathroom to how they run the kitchen...lol. It's the type of place that you have to give a onetime try if your in the area

I really enjoy the burgers here, and Marci is an excellent bartender. However, I've found that most of the waitresses seem to act as if my presence is a nuisance.

Since 1946, Mason's has been the ultimate burger destination. If you're looking for the best burger in the state, you have to try their double cheeseburger—it’s guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. This full-service bar offers a variety of other delicious options, but you can't miss the freshly ground burgers made on-site every day. The service and quality here far surpass that of Miller's. In fact, Mason's was named Detroit's best burger in a WDIV poll in 2010, among many other accolades it has received over the years.

It seems that this restaurant was recognized as having the Best Burger in the Detroit Area back in the early 2000s. I'm not sure if they still hold that title, but their burgers are still outstanding. The place is small, but in a cozy way. As of early 2022, amidst ongoing pandemic concerns, they don't appear to be open on weekends; I'm uncertain whether this is a deliberate decision or a result of staffing shortages. Regardless, I highly recommend giving this spot a try. The only reason I'm not giving it a full five-star rating is that the service could have been quicker and more attentive.

The food is absolutely delicious. We have the patty melt and and the Reuben sandwich. They are really really tasty!! The chips had the perfect crunch. The french fries came out hot and tasted homemade. Lots of great beers to choose from. Waitress was nice and friendly. They actually have the sound on for the Tiger games so you can listen to it while you're watching it. Just a great non-chain place to go to for good food.
