Írjon visszajelzéstI thoroughly enjoyed the waffle at this restaurant! It was topped with Greek yogurt, granola, fresh berries, and syrup, and had a perfect texture (soft on the inside, golden and crispy on the outside). The location is charming, situated right by the LIC waterfront.
This coffee shop in NYC is one of my favorites. I enjoy their cold brew, vanilla lattes, and delicious pastries, especially the almond croissants. I've tried their avocado toast, breakfast sandwiches, and breakfast burrito, which were all amazing. The friendly staff works hard during busy hours. However, I suggest they stop using wooden forks and knives as they are not sharp enough to cut hard bread crust and make every bite taste like a popsicle stick.
This cafe is a wonderful place to hang out and relax, especially on a cold day when the cafe is warm and cozy. The minimalist decor and beautiful display of pastries add to the charm of the place. There is indoor and outdoor seating available, depending on the weather. Unfortunately, I had to wait in line and was accidentally skipped by one of the two cashiers – one was at the actual cashier station and the other was using an iPad. I ended up having to wait for the other cashier to take my order. Despite this, I ordered a 16 oz Dark Hot Chocolate made with chocolate chips (not powdered) which was delicious. If it weren't for the mix-up in line, I would have given this cafe a 5-star rating.
Black Star Bakery is a charming French café located in the heart of a bustling neighborhood. Their croissants are deliciously flaky, not greasy, and have the perfect crispy texture. I highly recommend trying the smoked salmon with microgreens or the egg cheese prosciutto. Every baked good is outstanding, especially the chocolate drizzle and mini apple pie. Don't miss out on their hearty burekas in various flavors like potato, mushroom, and cheese. They also offer a selection of delicious hot drinks, like hot cocoa and soy cappuccino. Next time you're looking for a new spot to try on a rainy or sunny Sunday morning, be sure to visit Black Star Bakery. For more food reviews, check out @destination_food33.
I had a great experience at this restaurant and would give it 4 stars overall. I highly recommend trying their chocolate babka, which I rated 5/5 for its delicious and balanced taste, moist texture, and soft chewiness. The croissant was good as well, with a soft interior but lacking in tasty texture on the outside (4/5). Unfortunately, I was not as impressed with the strawberry donutball, as it had a good texture but tasted artificial to me (3/5). The coffee was wonderful, smooth, and aromatic. The staff was friendly and welcoming. While it may not be a must-visit spot, it is definitely worth stopping by when in LIC.
