This was such a memorable dinner and experience. For the night I felt like Anthony Bourdain, being shown the food and culture as if we were in abuelas house eating. This is like having a private chef (you pay much more for that in the states) , the food is delicious. The zucchini soup was unlike anything I had tasted before. Be open, let go of control, and if you want a unique experience, please support Sofia! She is a beautiful person and we will be back again to see what she makes with love! Vegetarian options: So delicious, I didn’t even realize some things were vegetarian! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $1–100

I would give Canipole and Sofia 10 stars if I could. It was more than a meal, it was an experience of being welcomed into a family home and hosted by the owner and her nieces. Everything is made from scratch and cooked over an open wood fire or in her beautiful outdoor kitchen. We started with the best guacamole I've had, made right in front of us, with a margarita made from fresh squeezed lime, orange, grapefruit and clementine juice. Choice of three entrees, all of which were outstanding. The chile rellanos and chicken mole were perfectly seasoned and cooked. We knew the meal would cost more than at local taco stands, but then again, the quality and experience was well worth it. For two of us, it was $80 total for a 4 course homemade meal (with drinks), that we thought was well worth it. Highly recommend making a trip to Canipole during your vacation in Loreto. Reservations are required.
This place is a tourist trap. In all the years I've traveled to Mexico I've never been scammed until I came here. We were charged $60 USD per person for leftovers. I also heard her coming up with prices in the back with her granddaughter. She asks you where you're from so she knows how much to charge you. She said she charges Italians more because they don't tip. I'm mexican and have never been scammed in mexico until I came here. Do yourself a favor and avoid!!
