Harold's Chicken Bar - Los Alamitos

I like the old school Chicago/ counterstyle way better. That being said, I understand this is the more upscale version. Menu is on point, prices for the chicken dinners are what I expect for Hollywood (though the pizza puff is mad cheap, and legit). Everyone working there is really nice and the food overall is on point. My complaints, and this may be due to their recent opening and needing to iron out the flow, but the food took way too long to arrive (I understand it’s made to order but a full hour to get all our food, all coming out one at a time? Not satisfactory). And there was a lack of cashier service. They got my order wrong, and I didn’t realize it until an hour later when we were waiting for food I know I ordered but wasn’t on the receipt and I didn’t notice until I checked it. And there were more than a few times where there were huge lines and nobody at the register. Like, at all for minutes at a time. Not sure what that was all about. I hope they’re able to figure out those wrinkles because the food is legit and I do appreciate it being there.

I think they were understaffed. the lovely waitress did make every effort to right the wrongs which we appreciated. the food was very good. the cocktails were delicious. the service can be better... annnnnd the ladies room was very DIRTY. I would recommend HCB to a friend but I'd be sure to let them know the things I observed first

Heard about this spot from a FB friend, so I rolled thru with a couple of foodies and we made it happen on a Friday nite. I ordered the chicken tenders and a side of shrimp and the rest of the crew decided to have fried fish and chicken combos. The mixed sauce is just what I needed and I also took home lots of leftovers. Will I be back, yes but taking the train as I am not giving up another $20 for parking, hell, that was more than the meal.

I think they were understated. the beautiful waitress did everything to correct the mistakes we have estimated. eating was very good. the cocktails were delicious. the service can be better. the lady room was very dirty. I will recommend hc

My man and I arrived at 2:15 on Saturday afternoon in the restaurant. there were not many available tables, and we had a reservation, but they still have to choose their seat. first the only available space was a small table that would normally have been in order. However, all the other tables were full and we had to push our chair so close to the table that we had to sit sideways. we decided to wait until somewhere else to sit so that we could enjoy our meal. we only waited about 5 minutes before something was opened and we waited for our order, so it wasn't a problem. our food came in approx. 10 minutes and it was hot. the wels were just as we remember from our Chicago days, delicious. the staff was super friendly and helpful. that can be a decisive factor when you find where to spend our food money. as regards 18% happiness, it is not so bad in my assessment. they seem to have specializations of the day, so that the prices are reasonable, and the employees work hard. we will definitely be back soon and have already told other chicagoers about it.
