El Compadre Restaurant - Los Angeles

It's very loud and crowded and the waiters seem to want to hurry people through. But the food is good.

We left before we ordered food: here's why.... 1- we were sat next to a slamming door that was shaking our table. we asked if they could wedge the door they said no- they also said if we want a different table it would be an hour and a half wait 2- took us about 30minutes to get menus 3- once our server finally came over it took 20 min for our drinks to arrive... After being there for 1 hour, we left! We have been coming here for YEARS and Have no idea why all of a sudden this is the service style....

Love this place! It's a little on the pricey side for Mexican, but the tamales were delicious and the margaritas are amazing! We went at a perfect time when it wasn't noisy, even though a game was showing on the TV at the bar.

Eh. There are worse Mexican restaurants and there are better. But it’s reliable. A nightmare getting seated though. So much confusion at the check.

Great food and exceptional service. Highly recommended.
