Írjon visszajelzéstThe waiter was great and sugarfish is my go to in LA ! Can't stop being addicted to that place
This was my first time coming here, and I decided to get the Nozawa. The fish quality was between decent and just good, in my opinion. The main highlight for me was the mixture of different cuts in the tuna sashimi. Also, I appreciated the sauce recommendations in the to-go box for each of the fish. It was slightly confusing, though, for me since it was still a bit hard for me to tell apart the different fish.
Didn't give full points for the service because I remember raising my hand for water for more than once and for a while too. Same thing happened when asking for the bill and when asking for the bill to be taken. Not sure if it was because the place was packed (also the reason why my atmosphere is at 4 star, nice interiors and all but a little noisy and tables are so close to each other, at least for me) but I just could not give a 5 star for that kind of experience. For $39 for the Nozawa Trust Me, it was truly worth it. I hardly eat tuna and always go for salmon when in other sushi restaurants but for Sugarfish, or at least my taste buds, their tuna is always superior. I ordered salmon sashimi on top of our set to compare further as seen in the photos I attached. So if you're not ordering a set, at least order their tuna sashimi and chutoro sushi. The blue and dungeness crab roll was great too.
It's a dark ambiance if you step into the restaurant while it's still light out, but once you adjust the dimly lit room is kind of nice (hard to see the menu though). The ambient noise levels from other conversations mean you definitely have to lean in to hear your table partner(s) or speak up yourselves. The service was great, everything was tasty, and the sake options were good as well. There are combo sizes for every appetite level/stomach capacity: from the Trust me Lite, to the Don't think Just Eat (chefs choice).
Quite simply, the best sushi and sashimi I’ve ever had. The rice was warm and fresh, the fish was fragrant and firm. They had uni my favourite as a special. Exquisite: I didn’t want it to stop
