During my recent visit with my wife and friends, we were treated to a delightful culinary experience. The standout of my meal was undoubtedly the burger—it was perfectly cooked, expertly seasoned, and although it was a bit on the smaller side, the flavor did not suffer at all. Each bite was packed with taste, proving that size was no barrier to enjoyment. Accompanying the burger was a side of Mac and Cheese that was nothing short of heavenly. It had a creamy and comforting texture without being overly rich, crafted with a blend of perfectly melted cheeses rather than a standard cheese sauce. This unique twist added a sophisticated flair to a classic comfort food. My wife, who adores Southern cuisine, was thrilled with her choice of a beef Po' Boy. She declared it delicious, and it paired wonderfully with her selected bourbon, enhancing the overall flavors brilliantly. Speaking of bourbon, the variety at North of Bourbon is impressive. The flight I chose included an assortment of Blanton's and Maker's Mark, each with its own distinct profile that complemented our meal choices perfectly. The service was top-notch, with a warm and welcoming staff that was both attentive and knowledgeable. They expertly guided us through the extensive bourbon selection and ensured that our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. The only factor preventing a perfect five-star rating was the slightly smaller portion of the burger, which, while delicious, left me wishing for just a bit more. Overall, North of Bourbon successfully combines a vast selection of quality bourbons with a delightful menu, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that both bourbon enthusiasts and food lovers will appreciate. With its inviting atmosphere, knowledgeable service, and outstanding food, I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in the heart of Louisville!

The fish and grits and the beignets are must-tries whenever you visit for brunch here! I always enjoy coming to this place when I'm in Louisville. Skip the sweet tea (it’s not for me) and don’t forget to bring a sweater; it tends to be quite cool inside, which is nice during the summer heat.

Absolutely amazing! Everything was fantastic! From the service to the high-quality drinks and the delicious food, it was all top-notch! The atmosphere was really cool as well. The shrimp and grits were hands down the best I've ever had—so full of flavor! Even the little tomatoes on top were bursting with taste! If I'm ever back in this area, I'll definitely make sure to stop by again!

I have had good food before. But hardly ever has a dining experience compared to the two times visited North of Bourbon. Having recently visited New Orleans, I can honestly say the food equals or exceeds the best of the food I had down there.The consistency from dish to dish was impeccable around execution. But more than anything was the sheer hospitality. Eric, Brad, Jigg and the rest of the team became more than just acquaintances, but real friends who helped us navigate our meal and our time in Louisville while creating memories to last for a long time. As my brother said, “it felt like I was eating at a friend’s house.” I said “two times” earlier, because we had to cancel our reservation at a prominent Louisville restaurant to come back once we ate here once. If you are looking for inventive food and drink, served with impeccable consistency, with an unmatched hospitality, you cannot do much better in Louisville or anywhere else than North of Bourbon.

Yesterday 5/20/23, was our (my wife and I) first time at this diner. Superb service and amazing food!! Thank you to the owner Daniel for keeping the kitchen open for us since it was packed when we got there and we wanted to have dinner as well as a couple drinks but had to wait for a table. He made sure to check on us as we waited as well as other guests that came in after us. Our server Ada was just amazing! She also recommended some places to check out since we are from out of town. Thank you for a great time!! We definitely would come visit again!! We had the Gumbo, catfish nuggets, Mac n cheese, and potato wedges! SO DELICIOUS!!
