Amazing value for money pool to chill around if you don't have a pool at your hostel/guesthouse. 20k entry. And the beers are very cheap, 16k for a big beer lao. 14k for a bottle of luang prabang beer. Food very reasonable aswell 25/30k a dish. Would definitely recommend
Really nice pool! Especially for a hot day. 20,000 kip per person. They serve drinks too
Closed, like the Utopia Bar, they seem to be renovating. There was construction going on, the pool dirty.
La Pistoche has 2 personalities. By day it is a great family place with many local and expat families. By night is is more of a backpacker hangout. For those who complain about local kids... It caters to both locals and tourists. If you want to avoid locals, then consider staying in your home country instead of traveling. If you want solitude or tranquility then one of the expensive tourist hotels may suit better. You pay a 50,000 kip deposit per group and 30,000 kip entrance fee. They give you a tag with a number which serves as a tab for ordering drinks and food. When you leave, they will take your number and either charge or refund any balance against your deposit. Don't lose your number... No outside food/drink is allowed. There is a small fee for bike or motorbike parking. There are 3 separate pools, with a small diving platform and inner tubes as well as kiddie slides. Water is very clean. It is much safer than many pools in Laos, but there are some sharp corners (not smoothly rounded like you would see in western pools). I bring my kids without worries, but if your kids are very impulsive and accident prone, watch them closely. Food is very good. French fries are excellent if you like them crispy. Menu has Lao and Western items with prices similar to slightly higher than at most basic tourist places in town. If you have kids, or don't mind a lot of activity, it is a great way to cool off, see Lao families at play, and enjoy some good food in a relaxed atmosphere.
