Prato Verde - LUCCA

The quality in this restaurant is really excellent. We are several times and tried almost every dish on the menu. All the pasta is homemade, the ingredients are fresh. The antipasti are especially delicious. And the prices are unbeatable too. We usually had antipasti, main course, dessert, a bottle of wine, a bottle of water, and usually paid less than €50 for both of us. The desserts are all homemade. We liked them all, especially the cantuccini. The house wine is good too €6 per bottle) and we loved the chardonnay frizzante. There is really good homemade grappa for €2 really).

Prato Verde is absolutely a hidden gem. The resort villas are modern, clean, wonderful balconies and vistas, private and comfortable. The pools are terrific, particularly the upper hilltop pool overlooking the Mediterranean. The food is amazing. We enjoyed one of the finest, most delicious steak dinners we have ever had anywhere, and we have traveled extensively. Mara Angeli, the hostess and chef, is a creative artist in the kitchen, and seems to love what she does. The side dishes, whether potatoes or the carmelized onions, or vegetable flan, they are creative and wonderful. And dessert, amazing. In addition, Mara has accommodated a gluten free diet beautifully. Breakfast is equally wonderful, expansive with multiple items, and inexpensive. Generally the prices are modest for what you receive. We will hopefully be back. I highly recommend this wonderful experience.

Family owned and operated. Fabulous meal. Everything is fresh and home made. The most delicious Lasagna we have ever eaten. A wonderful place for your special event, or for a romantic getaway. They also have apartments for you to stay. Reservations are recommended.
