In April 1963, Tom Monaghan and his brother James took over the operation of DomiNick 's, an existing site of a small pizza restaurant chain owned by Dominick DiVarti, at 507 Cross Street (now 301 West Cross Street) in Ypsilanti, Michigan, near Eastern Michigan University. The deal was secured by a $500 deposit, and the brothers borrowed $900 to pay for the store. The brothers planned to share the working hours evenly, but James did not want to finish his job as a full-time postman to keep the requirements of the new company. Within eight months James exchanged his half of the business to Tom for the Volkswagen Beetle they used for pizza delivery. Until 1965, Tom Monaghan had bought two additional pizzas; he now had a total of three locations in the same district. Monaghan wanted the shops to share the same branding, but the original owner forbade him to use the name DomiNick. One day, an employee, Jim Kennedy, returned from a pizza delivery and hit the name Domino 's Monaghan immediately loved the idea and officially renamed the business Domino 's Pizza, Inc. in 1965. The company logo originally had three points representing the three shops in 1965. Monaghan planned to add a new point with the addition of any new memory, but this idea quickly faded as Domino 's rapid growth experienced. Domino 's Pizza opened its first franchise location in 1967 and by 1978 the company expanded to 200 branches. In 1975, Domino faced a complaint by Amstar Corporation, the producer of Domino Sugar, brand violation and unfair competition. On May 2, 1980, the Fifth Appeals Court in New Orleans found favor of Domino's Pizza.
Tasty food but oily and creamy. Don't know which oils or cocktails of fat they use in pizza mania, taco and other side orders. Little worried always. I wish they can add more healthy options with taste, rather than only pricing.
Very nice staff. Fresh food. Good prices. Only drawback is the seating area that is little far. After finishing the order you go to sit there and wait for ur order to get ready then you come back again to take ur food and then went back to the sitting area to eat. Thou it is little far but the atmosphere is good.
Just don't ask for extra cheese , it will mess everything . Foods are fine but don't eat if your age is below 13 . According to some scientists work pizza harmful and also those fast foods.
