Good food in this touristic area warm welcome by the team.
Outstanding services by Jess. Hope got the correct spelling. Was undecisive for lunch checking the menu at the door. Her welcoming smile greet us and promptly introduce the key menu items in a witty, non stressful manner. Decided to try within seconds after that. Keep up the good work and all that Jazz Jess! Fish fillet with clams in white wine sauce bread. Soft, tender and good standard portion fillet. Clams matched with the sauce well. Lunch set chosen pumpkin soup smooth and taste just right without over and orange roll. Bacalhau tart served nice and hot off the stove. Recommended. Portion a bit small for both tart roll. Would be nice if can size it up. Despite already had something else prior to this lunch, overall felt enough afterwards sharing the dishes among the two of us.
Nice Orange Roll and tart, though a bit small in portion.
Cafe SAB 8 is a small restaurant at Patio de Chon Sau, just west the Ruins of St. Paul. This is a relatively new cafe with nice modern decor and a menu featuring a few Macanese and international dishes. Opening hours are 12-7pm daily. We really like the Bacalhau tarts here. These are a modern take on the popular Portuguese fish balls. This was pretty good and something we'd like to return to enjoy again, perhaps as a round of light bites to enjoy with a round of drinks. We have tried their Minchi, a local dish of minced pork, served with rice and egg. The version served here looked tidy and nice but tasted decent but was a bit bland compared to better versions you can find around the city. In the end, Cafe SAB 8 is conveniently located not far from the very popular tourist area at the Ruins of St. Paul and shopping area of the Historic City Centre. Give them a try if looking for a place to eat in the city centre and wanting to stay away from the pricy touristy places near Senado Square.
