Capricorn Bar & Restaurant - Madgaon

While vacationing on Varca beach in January, my friends and I discovered this restaurant and ended up eating here every day during our two-week stay. We sampled some other restaurants on the beach, but this one definitely stood out. The food and drink selection was excellent, especially the coffee which was so creamy and delicious. We also tried various dressings from the menu, all of which were fantastic, but the shrimp and pineapple salad was a standout dish that we couldn't get enough of. Monica, who works there, was incredibly accommodating and friendly, as were all the staff. The service and dining experience were truly top-notch and we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Varca beach. You won't be disappointed!

We stumbled upon The Block by accident, asking a friendly Goan-Chap about the sunbed fees before we settled in. He served us well, offering reasonable prices for drinks like Kingfisher and coffee. The ambiance was nice, with a makeshift plug available. On a return visit, we encountered a different experience. The staff seemed disinterested and the service was lacking. We were even asked to pay for the sunbeds, which was not the case before. It felt like a deliberate attempt to take advantage of tourists. When we questioned this, we were met with rude behavior and were eventually asked to leave. This was a disappointing and uncomfortable experience, making it hit and miss for returning customers like us.

We stayed on Varca beach for two weeks in January and ate in this restaurant all the time (once we found it). Tried the other shacks on the beach and this one Beat the lot!!. Wide choice of food and drinks....coffee is great and very creamy!! and we tried a large variety of dishes on the menu and all were superb. In particular the prawn and pineapple salads! we had one every day ha ha.Monica is the lady who attends to you every need and she is lovely and so very friendly and kind. In fact they all are who work there. Can't speak highly enough of the truly fab service and food.PLEASE give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

We stumbled upon the Capricorn shack by accident and were initially greeted by a friendly Goan man who served us drinks. The service was good and the price was reasonable. However, on a subsequent visit, the service was not as welcoming. The waitress seemed inconvenienced and demanded payment for the sunbeds, which was not previously mentioned. This change in policy left a bad impression on us as returning customers. The overall experience at Capricorn shack was inconsistent and left us feeling disappointed.
