C Js Deli - Madison

I was in the mood for a good breakfast sandwich, so my coworker suggested this place. Unfortunately, it was quite a letdown. As soon as we walked in, I didn't even smell food, which was confusing. The older patrons just stared at us, making me uncomfortable. We placed our orders, but I didn't hear any sizzling from the grill—I'm pretty sure they microwaved and boiled everything for the older crowd. I was shocked to see this place has a 4.8-star rating; it makes no sense to me. It seems like a spot for people who don't have discerning taste.

C&J’s is exactly what you look for in a deli! The sandwiches are fantastic, it's family-owned, and the staff is incredibly friendly. It's a wonderfully welcoming spot to settle in for a meal. My family and I will definitely be returning frequently.

This is a fantastic deli that features a charming old-fashioned luncheonette counter. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is very inviting.

This little local spot is a gem. Family owned. Small, worn in a good way. Counter seating. All made here. Super reasonable pricing.Very friendly staff and management.I had an eggplant sandwich on a roll. This was a long roll and could have easily fed two. What a great little spot!
