When we entered through the back door from the parking lot, we were completely ignored by the girl at the counter and an older man who appeared to be the host. This lack of attention was more telling than any tablecloth could be. Eventually, we were noticed, but after being shown to our table and handed menus, the host disappeared without saying a word. We took our time to look over the menu, choosing appetizers, entrees, and even dessert. But as time went on, we realized we were waiting without any service. At one point, we overheard a neighboring table ask the host if they had champagne, to which he replied no. If I were running a restaurant with a full bar, I would certainly have a bottle or two of champagne on hand, or at least consider running to a nearby store to fulfill a customer's request. But that’s just my approach. As we continued to wait, we began to feel overlooked. We were hoping for some basic service: perhaps water, breadsticks, or even just a friendly acknowledgment. But all we got was silence. After about 15 minutes without any attention, we started discussing alternative plans for the birthday dinner. A waitress finally approached us and mentioned she'd be with us shortly, but frankly, it was too late by then. Frustrated, we decided to leave. Before exiting, I spoke to the host, who may also have been the owner, and informed him that we were tired of waiting and felt neglected. He simply replied with an indifferent, "Oh, sorry." The tone we perceived felt dismissive, as if to say, "Oh well." Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially for a celebration we had been looking forward to.
