407 Gelato (maitland)

The online menu for Maitland 407 Gelato Cafe needs to be updated. I was charged over $11.00 for a Nutella crepe that didn’t have anything special on it. I was surprised by the price since the online menu indicated it would be over $7.00. While the service was good, I found the cost of the crepe to be too high.

I visited this restaurant in the afternoon for a dessert date with my wife. We decided to try the Grand Floridian Waffle paired with two scoops of gelato—strawberry and Stracciatella (a wonderful vanilla with dark chocolate that you must try). The total came to over $22 with tax, and I realized I could have saved some money by ordering a large instead of a double. The waffle was perfectly made and loaded with toppings. We also requested whipped cream, which made it an excellent dessert. I encourage others to come and create their own favorite combination for a lovely date experience!

The gelato was delicious. There were 2 people who served us, a young man and a young woman. The young man was super friendly and suggested great combinations. He was honest when we asked his opinion on putting flavors together. He went above and beyond to make our experience great.I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because when the young woman was serving my gelato, I saw her attempting to remove something and being unsuccessful, she just shrugged and handed it to the man to finish. When he handed it to me, of course I checked to see what she was doing and I ended up pulling out a foot long hair. The man saw and was embarrassed and immediately asked for my cone back and remade it.

Excellent Gelato. You can taste the passion. This business is definitely worth the trip for a treat!
