Makawao Steak House

Has space for improvements. A better menu for starters.

There is potential for improvement, particularly with the starter menu.

This restaurant was very average. How can they make a Kobe Beef burger below average? I requested it to be cooked medium rare, leaning towards rare, but it came out medium to well done. The salad bar was decent and the wine selection was better than most restaurants in Maui, but overall it was just satisfactory.

Unfortunately, this restaurant is now closed. There are rumors of family health issues or even a death, but regardless, it is no longer open. My last experience there resulted in getting sick a few hours later. It is a sad conclusion to what was once a beloved establishment in Makawao.

Personally I'd say this place is better than Mamas fish house, the service was good and the quality of food was perfect.
