Bistro Bruselas - Málaga

Oh, we were in Malaga‘s historic Central area when the clouds started coming in and the weather started getting stormy. What should we do.? Well, we decided to head on over to Plaza Merced and find ourselves a café with umbrellas and shelter in case the rain started. We were lucky , found a place and soon enough, the rain began coming down and we were able to eat in a sheltered area but soon even that was not enough. Everyone on the terrace had to move inside in order to stay dry. I must say with all of the moving around and confusion that the rain had created did not affect how the staff took it in their stride and kept all of the tables and bills straight. They were very accommodating and served us inside long after the rain finished. The staff and the management are to be commended with how they handled the whole thing. We would certainly go back there anytime. Plaza Merced also boasts another couple of things, one being the location of Pablo Picasso’s home when he grew up and apparently Pablo played in the Square at that time. Now the plaza sports, a Pablo sculpture sitting on a bench where everyone seems to sit and have their picture taken with Pablo. The plaza also has 20 or so jacaranda trees with their wonderful purple flowers, and it makes for a photographic extravaganza. If in Malaga head for Plaza Merced and the cafés there and you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful smoked sardine tapas a two glasses of rioja each €15 lovely sunny spot from 3-5. Can’t wait to try more. A good one.

Our favorite dish is a tapa called pulpo con puree! But now it is only available in a large dish. With this review we are trying to get that tapa back on the menu.

Tomamos unas cervezas y unas patas de pulpo, que estaban muy ricas y a un precio estupendo. El servicio es muy atento. Recomendable.

Pub con terraza en la plaza de la merced, dentro del local es muy acogedor, gran variedad de copas, el personal muy atento y muy agradables, siempre está lleno, ponen con las copas unos cuencos de frutos secos y gominolas, lo cual se agradece, la música muy chula
