Wood Street Freehouse - Mangawhai

Initially, we only planned to stay for one drink, but after seeing the delicious-looking food being served and browsing the menu, we couldn’t resist. After enjoying three beers each, along with a pizza and some wings, we decided to call it a night. By the time we left, the place was packed and buzzing with energy. I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

The service was extremely friendly. Although the main kitchen was closed on a Sunday night, the pizzas were fantastic. I highly recommend the Pork Belly Hoisin and Tandoori Chicken pizzas!

I worked there for about three months, and every day was filled with joy thanks to the locals, my colleagues, and the overall atmosphere. During my time there, I received some of the kindest words and shared more heartfelt smiles than I can remember. This is a place where you can simply go and feel happy.

Coming from a family who was raised in hospitality. I can honestly say, I haven’t seen quality like this in years. The food was fast and tasty, but the friendliness and the welcome we experienced from the staff was an absolute game changer. Not to mention, this is a dog friendly environment and our dog was so spoiled and welcomed by all. Literally the highlight of our trip. Ignore any rubbish reviews written about these guys as I can confidently say they are phenomenal!! Thank you Team see you tomorrow!

I don't know why wouldn't anyone give this place 5 stars! Excellent food, wonderful staff and overall good vibes. We got the garlic and cheese pizza and hot wings. Both tasted great! We didn't mind the wait, considering how packed they were. Great job guys! Will be back for more soon!
