Murphys Law - Manlius

We've visited this restaurant several times now. They offer a great selection of beers and a variety of wines to suit different tastes. The food is quite good overall. However, the wings are just average—slightly undercooked—but the wing bites are delicious. I tried a salad that was really fresh and a wrap that had a bit too little chicken, but was enjoyable nonetheless. One downside was that the music was too loud; I appreciate some background tunes when I go out, but I also want to be able to have a conversation. That said, it became more manageable once the game started. I will definitely return.

The restaurant has potential, but there are significant issues. The food and service are inconsistent, with some employees excelling while others fall short. One barmaid, in particular, never smiles and seems unfamiliar with one of the drink specials they offer. The acoustics are poor, making it hard to enjoy the atmosphere. On a positive note, the bar setup is impressive, and the drinks and beer are enjoyable. I genuinely hope they succeed, but they really need someone to manage the operations effectively. Unfortunately, with the sparse crowds they attract on weekends, I’m not optimistic about their chances of survival.

I had a wonderful lunch! The homemade tomato basil soup was delicious, perfectly balancing sweet and tangy flavors, reminiscent of fresh garden tomatoes and basil. The grilled cheese on sourdough was equally delightful. It was my first time trying poutine, and it exceeded my expectations – it was fantastic! To top it all off, our waitress was incredibly friendly.

Food was pretty good. Angry Leprechaun grilled chicken sandwich was a winner with sweet hot peppers and juicy chicken. Grilled asparagus side also good. Lobster/shrimp roll was nondescript but fair for the price. No liquor license when we visited, which feels like a massive tease in an Irish bar with a solid draft list that included beers from Barrier and Lawson's. Decor needs to soften up but that should happen over time. We'll be back.
