Pheasant Inn - Mansfield

I stopped by for a drink in the afternoon only to find they were out of everything! I'm grateful I wasn't planning on eating there, as the quality of the place has deteriorated. I didn't linger long, as it also appeared quite dirty. Some new staff and a thorough cleaning are definitely needed.

My wife, two grandkids, and I visited the restaurant on Saturday 3rd August. We ordered three pints and a red wine but were informed that there was no lager available due to line cleaning, which took 20 minutes. My grandchild, who works as a barman, mentioned that this should have been done before the restaurant opened to the public. Additionally, there was no red wine available at all. Despite this rocky start, we decided to stay and look at the menu for lunch. We opted for baguettes with different fillings, along with chips and salad as listed on the menu. However, when we went to order at the bar, we were told they only had cobs available. Our meals arrived about 20 minutes later without any salad, and the chips seemed reheated from the previous day. Overall, it was not a very pleasant experience and we will not be returning to this restaurant.

After several visits, I cannot recommend this place even for a drink. Last time we were there, we were told the bar was out of alcohol because the delivery was delayed. Two weeks later, they still hadn't received it. To make matters worse, the chip cob we ordered today for £3.50 was inedible. Based on our experience, we will not be returning.

This was a return visit as we had used this venue since the change of owner, but there is not enough staff on one person serving behind the bar and cooking is never good, this makes for very slow and unsatisfying service. The person cooking should be in Chefs whites with there hair in control and away from food.so in essence the food was bland 2 persons ordered garlic and herb chicken but got just plain chicken which looked like it had been thrown in the plate, will not be going back to this pub

Went there for a lunchtime drink but ended up paying over £3.50 for a can of John Smiths poured into a pint glass, recent change of ownership and the delivery not turned up so none of the pumps working, been here before the change and not bad food so what’s happening. It was a nice day and we sat outside just had chip cobs and they were decent so watch this space I will give it another try and let you know how it turns out when the pumps are on.
