Maddie's Sail Loft - Marblehead

The atmosphere is a sports bar for sure. But the food exceeds all expectations! The haddock with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach was cooked perfectly. The mac and cheese was very cheesy and creamy! The portion sizes were generous and the prices very reasonable. Would come back again!

This is a great little place ! It's a little hole in the wall that looks like a bar , but has a few tables.While we were there for lunch there were several families there. We had scallops and fish and chips and it was the most affordable lunch I've had at all the beaches I've been to this summer. The food was excellent I would go back again in a heartbeat. I also wanted to give kudos to the bartender/waitress. She had a full bar and all tables occupied and she was doing both jobs. These days your lucky if people show up to do one job, nevermind two. She was awesome

We went on Sunday evening about 7 pm. The bar had a few tables of customers. There was no wait and we were seated immediately in a booth. I estimate the restaurant was half full when we started and 1/4 full when we left. We ordered wine. I was pleasantly surprised they offered a riesling. My friend had a good choice of chardonnay to chose from. After discussing allergies with staff I ordered Meatloaf. My friend ordered steak tips. They both came with with a healthy portion of potatoes and fresh al dented green beans. The portions were large. We both enjoyed our meals. I would order mine again. For desert we shared a peach pie and ice cream. It was served with a generous drizzle of caramel. The pie was delicious. My friend found the caramel too sweet . The crust was soggy. But, it was the last slice of the evening. We ate it all. The only real complaint was the temperature. When the place was almost empty it was cold. Luckily we brought jackets. Overall an excellent dinner at reasonable price for the area.

Well we had to come to Marblehead to get some boat parts from a dealer in town and we wanted a nice lunch. I did my homework and searched the internet and saw this sweet little hidden gem!! We sat at the bar and the lovely Martha took excellent care of us. I had a swordfish BLT and hubby had the fisherman’s platter.. both were absolutely delicious. Prices are great too. If you happen to be even NEAR this restaurant you MUST GO!! Just a fantastic find.. to all that work there keep up the good work and thank you thank you thank you.

GREAT fresh seafood!!! Look at the size of those shrimp!!! I had the Fisherman's platter...will order the same thing next time!!! LARGE portions (including my beer! and GREAT prices!!! You MUST EAT HERE if you're in the area!!!
