Fantastic NY style pizza. Crust crisp but chewy at the same time. Toppings all quality, yes it's not cheap but it's not little Cesar's. I like little Cesar's also but that's different. I think the pricing is spot on given the quality. Lots of beers to choose and wine. Call in your order early because the wait can be long, we went spring break week so lots of tourists like us. Lady running the pace was as nice as can be. Also ice cream and fancy sodas drinks for kids. We also had a Greek salad to balance thing Lanier and get some fiber in there.
First, let 's talk about the wait. Our first visit, we were told there was a 2 hour wait. No way were we waiting for 2 hours for a single pizza. So we decided to order that night for the next day. For our second visit, we got our pizza as requested. We arrived 15 minutes late and the lady at the counter shrugged at us and told us she doesn 't have time to reheat our pizza even though we never requested it. Second, the pizza flavor is good, but the pizza texture itself is flaccid. You can 't bend it or even hold it with one hand to eat it. God forbid you use utensils to eat this flaccid pizza, because there are none in sight. Third, the staff are rude af. It 's 45 degrees F outside and they have heat lamps inside, so we ask the staff if they can turn the heat lamp on. The staff literally says, I don 't have time to turn it on. You don 't have time to do your job? Interesting. However, awhile later, she does bring by a portable heat lamp. When we finally finish, we clean after ourselves like normal people, but are rudely scolded by one of the staff. You talk to paying customers like that? You 're lucky you didn 't get slapped. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plaque. Better to go to The Get Go and just make yourself a sandwich or get one of their cold sandwiches. Pizza Foundation? This isn 't the foundation for anything.
First time, we came in on a Friday at 6pm to order a pizza and was told it was a 2 hour wait and that there were 40 pizzas ahead of us. Ok. Second time, we ordered ahead the evening before for pick up the next day at 6pm, so all good. We get to the restaurant, and the restaurant had made our pizza a bit early (around 540pm), which is fine and we picked it up around 615pm. We pick up the pizza and the owner shrugs at us and mentions, We can 't reheat your pizza because you 're late. Pizza was still warm so whatever. The actual pizza is decent the ingredients are fresh, however the actual crust of the pizza is very soggy. You cannot fold the pizza in any way to be able to hold it like a normal slice I was literally pushing the slice from the plate in order to eat it. We got a sausage, tomato, and mushroom pizza so not a ton of ingredients. The restaurant is pretty cold, so I asked if they could turn on one of the heat lamps. The owner tells me she 's too busy to turn it on and will do it later. Ok fine, apparently they 're too busy to do anything. We ate our pizza in the restaurant and were going to leave, and were trying to figure out where to throw the pizza box away. We were going to throw it into the trash can, and then the guy making the pizza dough told us to throw it away in the dumpster outside which is fine, so we asked where the dumpster is. He then responded in a very annoyed tone to just leave it on the table and he 'll throw it away. Don 't talk to your paying customers like that when you charge $20 a pizza and everybody has to wait like 2 hours. Maybe you should get another pizza oven in the giant warehouse you own. All in all the pizza is fine but nothing special. You can easily find better pizza in any major city. I had no expectations to this pizza whatsoever. I wouldn 't recommend because the owners are cranky and stressed all the time. Maybe have another pizza oven or something running a business 101. Go to Cochineal, where they treat you like real customers and the food is great!
When you walk in the aroma of pizza cooking tells you that these guys have their act in gear. We started with a salad which was very fresh but needed a bit of zing in the dressing so we added oregano, pepper and salt to lend it a hand. The pizza comes in one size and for some reason takes a long time to bake. We went early with almost no one there and counted six pizzas in an hour being made. That would explain some of the complaints you'll see. That said, it is really very good pizza! I'm talking high in my top 5 ever. Sometimes we have to be patient. The crust is thin, yeasty and chewy. Sauce is light and fresh. Good for kids with an outside area. It can get hot inside when the doors are closed. There is wine and beer for adults and ice cream for desert. We will be back!
