The host was pleasant and inviting, the bartenders and our server was very friendly and attentive. However, we were very disappointed in our meals. The shrimp appetizer was bland and not very well presented. My wife's filet was cooked as requested but lacked flavor. I ordered my ribeye medium but it was more medium well, very charred on the outside and grisly. We also ordered the hollandaise sauce but we when went to pour it on our plate it was more like the consistency of cold pudding rather than smooth and creamy as it should be, we couldn't even use it. In my opinion Aspen's was always included in the conversation with the other finer/high-end steak restaurants but based on our last experience that is no longer the case. I feel Aspen's needs to set up their game if they want to be in the same conversation with all the other higher-end steak restaurants in the metro area.
We have been here twice. The first time we came we weren’t impressed with the food we ordered but the service was decent. My husband’s boss would rave about this place so we came tonight to give it a second shot. We looked at the menu on their website and picked out what we wanted (I picked out the trout) We get the restaurant and it’s not on their current menu. Fine, I picked their market catch of the night, scallops. I am not a fan of quinoa and that is the only thing it came with. I asked to sub it for broccoli (which they have come with their salmon) the waiter said no, the chef was pretentious (his words) and would not sub it. Fine, I ordered a salad and my husband ordered the scallops because he saw I was bummed. The salad was subpar, the scallops were good but honestly it’s hard to screw up a scallop, the quinoa was terrible even for him and he likes the grain typically. Overall, we ordered two drink, an appetizer, two meals and we both left feeling like we fully will not return due to the food being poor. Nothing was worth the price tag. This place is within 5 minutes of our house. This is such a disappointment. The waiter was enthusiastic being the only reason this place gets two stars. It’s worth driving further for a better restaurant.
Lived nearby for years and always enjoyed. Great food, service, and atmosphere. Everything we ordered was very good and Sophia provided great service. However, menu felt limited and several of our favorites no longer served tuna two ways and mussels. While all was very good, there are other great restaurants in Woodstock and Roswell that offer better variety.
Food and service was great. It was a little cold and we were seated right next to the hostess station but it was okay. I order salmon and grits and it was good. My husband had a ribeye and shrimp scampi and it was delicious!
We are not ever dissatisfied with our entrees or the amazing service. Michael and Sophia were awesome!! Thank you for always making us feel special! And our guest LOVED everything. It was their first time and they will be returning!
