We came to the bar at 11:15 or so last night with a big party. I sat at the bar and placed an order of a few drinks and more from our party approached. I just wanted to make it and put all drinks on our tab and just pay for everyone. When I tried to convey this to the bartender (brown hairy guy with glasses) he started cheating on me and telling me that I had placed my order and I could not order more drinks. I always told him that the people he was talking to were with me and I wanted to put it on my account, but he always yelled at me. I made a comment on how I think that this is how he works for his tips, so he took all the drinks and threw them away emphatically. There was a bounty standing behind him all the time I now wonder if it was, crazy bartender irritating behavior bc one of the other bartenders told us that this is not unusual behavior. This is shameful for such an established place. We were just at a business event in Glover Park Brewery and Mr. Dupree had a speech about the revitalization efforts of the place and what is a special place Marietta. Our colleague had made a similar speech. I am sure that both would be completely embarrassed by this behavior as a representation of their beautiful city. We left this facility with our 15 colleagues and took our business on the road to Mac's Chophouse, where we were treated with the greatest kindness. If you don't know who you've been busy, you should have an idea. If you know who's treating your cartridges, and that's ordinary behavior, it's a damn shame.
I think in this place a pint and a burger when I'm in town. The pins are well cast and still quite cheap! The burgers have risen in price, but are still on what is considered the cheaper side of pub food. What I like about the burgers is that the meat, although it is ground at $10 or $11, in the house and is seemingly good quality. Even if they do not cook much with different temperatures, the burger always comes juicy and delicious! Last time I had the burger with Pimiento cheese. There were no complaints from my mates. They all seemed to enjoy their burgers. They also have good fish and chips, although I haven't tried them for years haha! I would definitely say that this place is worth a try if you are in Marietta Square area.
Thank you for letting me look out. I'm sorry to raise my voice. You are really the best institution in the square (and not because you let me look at the trail).
Stopped by on a Friday afternoon with some coworkers for a drink. From the time you walk in, its a total pub feel. A great selection of traditional English and Irish beers as well as local brews. Plenty to choose from. The food menu is concise and diverse. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and the meat was wonderfully tender. Service was great and the beer garden space, out back, was decorated with smatterings of England, Ireland, beach, and American party themes. I didn't stay too late, but the scene was picking up by 9pm. Looking forward to going back.
