Golden China Hakka Restaurant - Markham

My wife & I are becoming hakka experts (our tastebuds are happy with this new life goal) & although once you get to the better-end of hakka restaurants, everything starts tasting the same, Golden China Hakka stands out because of portion size and a great price. We tried the General Tso Chicken was which a little more gingery than other spots but still delicious. The hakka chow mein noodles were a little mild for our liking but the quantity had us stuffed and a little hot sauce did they trick. The owner who is also the cashier and the cook is a great guy (didn't get his name) and we are all for spending our money at locally owned establishments in comparison to a chain of restaurants if the quality & taste is right.We will be back again to try out other options!

A real gem of a place! Good service and good food. Love the chicken pakoras, Manchurian beef and the Singapore noodles.

Yes this is a hole in the wall. You aren't coming here for the ambiance or the average to below average service. The Food is good and affordable. Just the right flavour and portions you would expect for the price. Service was quick but there were only 2 other tables being served. The restaurant is not very big and it looks as though they do a lot of takeout as we witnessed many people coming in to pickup their orders.

Food was good . But a very different taste of small town india taste or of the street carts in bombay. Tried Bombay fish which was very nice but different

I reviewed this restaurant a while ago and things are still the same with them. Food is good but it seems every week the wait staff changes. Also on my previous visits I had seen people doing al lot of takeouts. So now that I have kiddies who wont sit still more than 2 mins I thought takeout is a good idea.Was I crazy or what ? Did I not say that this place has bad service.So the first time I ordered my takeout, I told them that I will be there in 40 minutes to pick up. When I reach there, my order was not ready. Not only was it not ready they kind of feigned ignorance about it. I was able to recall the whole telephonic conversation and voila they said they are sorry, there system was down so they could not input the order in the computer. ANd I obviously had to wait another 30 minutes..... you get the picture.But I dont learn my lessons- I try to do takeout again. Any guesses what happened this time... Same thing. So I ask the manager that when i call he should tell me that they dont do orders via telephone. I got the same explanation. system not working ......Not going back. Or maybe if am in the area for something else.
