Hakka Wok - Markham

This place is typically fast, friendly and very fairly priced. Stay away from Indian items on the menu... why would you order Indian at a Chinese place anyway? The chicken wings are crispy and tasty as well as many other dishes. The food tastes fresh and the restaurant is clean. I recommend ordering take out as seating is very limited. Also, with a place this busy I would not be surprised if there is a bit of a wait for dine in service. I am not sure where the bad reviews of this place are coming from... I have been here dozens of times and the food is great every time. Call your order in ahead of time though! I have only ever order dinner from this establishment.

I want to share a BAD dine-in experience I had at hakka wok resturant located at markham road and Edward Jeffrey. We ordered there lunch special my husband ordered chilli beef and I ordered schezwan fish. It was served to us in less than 5 mins. It was too salty so we complained to the waitress and she took the food. She looked so pissed with us as if we did some mistake by complaining about the food. After few mins she got us new plates and while I was eating my fish I was disgusted to see WORMS in my food. When I called the waitress again to show her the WORMS she got so rude and said worm must be from the vegetables and simply took our food and started entertaining other customer. Nobody apologized or bothered to come to our table again. We immediately left. Please avoid going to this place. Thanks.

After the business sold its not the same quality Hakka. The original owners sold the business and I could tell right away something changed. Went from white meat in their chicken pakora to dark meat. Small changes, but big difference!

The food is terrific, the service is fast and friendly. I had the hot and sour soup with spicy green pepper chicken. The soup was on point, the first bite of the entree was so good that it rolled my eyes back. The preperation was picture perfect, the temperature was just right and the overall taste experience was a practiced and seasoned balance of flavours. The hot and spicy garnishes on the tables are also appreciated. I look forward to trying other items on the menu.

A small place which probably doesn't seat more than 20 people but what a find! Food, portions and price were great. Less than $15 for large lunch for two, including pop. Again, most impressive was the food. The restaurant is tucked within a plaza and I only saw a glimpse of the sign - but decided to find and try it the next day. You know the food is good when you start checking the menu before you finish the meal to figure out what you want to order the next time you visit LOL! AND they do take-out. A place you gotta try and you're going to love!
