Hunan Lion - Marshall

I absolutely love this place! It's a must when we are in Marshall. Everything we've ordered has been delicious and quickly served. The owner is very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. I especially like the crab Rangoon, egg rolls, egg drop soup, chicken chow mein, general chicken hunan chicken. Seriously you can't go wrong with any item on the menu. You can tell walking in that they are short staffed. After a wait, we were shown to a table and menus were hastily left. A few minutes later an obviously new employee, (our server? shadowed by a nice lady (the owner? took our drink order, but they both disappeared for the rest of our visit. Someone else brought the food and a third person picked up our finished plates. That being said, the food coming out of the kitchen was phenomenal! The lemon chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce was well done—not too tart, not to sweet. The Pad Thai was traditional and perfect. Unfortunately, after the meal and after they had cleared the table of our plates we had to walk to the counter and ask to pay we took our fortune cookies “to go”. Hope they can soon fix the front of the house staffing and service issue, but with the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen, we will be back (for “take out” orders ! We waited over an hour for our food and then I ordered shrimp almond and got shrimp cashew. Husband ordered cashew chicken and they made shrimp. He had to wait then for them to make his chicken. It was waitresses fault as Bill read 2 cashew shrimp. Not such a good birthday celebration. 3 tables that were seated after us got their food first. Walked in behind another gentleman and both he and I waited for over 10 min at the front counter. 2 waitresses passed us on multiple occasions and never acknowledged us being there so I decided to leave. I'm sure the food is good but I won't be going here ever again. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
