Sonder Brewing - Mason

Mediocre, high priced food with below par service. Paid $19 for a cold Mediterranean wrap with chicken (reminded me of a grocery store pre-made deli wrap that you can get for $5) and loaded tater tots, which were over-cooked to the point where the cheese was hard and chewy (like when you microwave it for too long). Had a similar experience to someone else when it came to service... had to yell back to kitchen for someone to come take my order. Same when I returned for condiments (no idea what they're doing with that ketchup btw, it's just not good)... and again when I returned for a refill of water. Basically no one is at the counter to help you; you have to yell for them. Food quality and service has declined since first opening. It was just OK to begin with. Now it's worse... and WAY too expensive for what it is.

Something has changed from when Sonder/Brewriver first opened. The last two times we have been the food as be terrible. Nothing has seasoning. The fancy Mac n cheese was so bland. $5 brownie had to have been missing sugar, took one bite and threw it away. Word of mouth travels and trust me I warn anyone that is going to eat while visiting Sonder to not have high expectations from the food at BrewRiver.

What a cool place, as evidenced by the nice crowd on this May Friday night of my first visit. Great beer selection and quality. Many spots inside and out to enjoy it. And I was impressed by the on site BrewRiver Kitchen: the fried bologna on Texas toast is killer! The surrounding office/industrial park setting is a bit odd, but who cares Sonder is a winner.

Everybody here is really nice. Even the birds who live behind the outside tv.The food was super good. And the outdoor patio has tons of space.My daughter wants you to know that the fire pit table really hot. I wish they had a 3.5 star option, but I'm gonna be generous. If this place was just a bar, I'd give it 5 stars. Good beer and the staff behind the bar was friendly and knowledgable. Ambiance is nice and I like that it's family friendly, so this might not be a place for someone looking for just a bar. My problem was with the food and food service. First, the food is just mediocre. The burger, fries, chicken wings were all dry and nothing special about them. Especially compared to their nicely crafted and interesting beers. My biggest complaint was the food service, which there is none. And that would be fine as it is by design. You seat yourself and wait in line, order, and pick up your food when they text message you. Your food is served on disposable plates with silverware. All fine as that is how things work here. But they charge you a 20% tip in your bill when you pay at their payment system. I guess you can sit there and navigate through the menu to remove the tip or ask the cashier to do it. But it seems down right rude to charge you tip when there's no service.
