American Beauty Bistro (central Ave)

WARNING: must order an entree per person to sit down for dinner. Maybe otherwise you’d have to stand? Not sure if kids meal entrees count. Please refer to the manager’s fine print of rules to sit down while paying for a meal. From experience, paying customers must not look poor or be a person of color to order an appetizer and sit down. Otherwise, the manager will make you uncomfortable enough to want to leave but you can’t because you’ll have to wait a long time for your order. Maybe bring a snack for your wait. Albeit- great food, great services. Only caveat is poor and TACKY management. Go across the street to spend $45 on a burger, fries, water, tax, tip, and a $5 card surcharge! Ask the manager if she is okay with you sitting down before you eat. If not, just wait for your order to go outside! They have a wonderful mural to view while you’re waiting outside!

Tiny, but great food friendly staff craft beers on tap

This bistro is pretty much a local pub dressed up in fake plastic roses to make it seem like something it 's not. There were layers of dust on the fake flowers and vents. The wait staff was HORRIBLE. Portions are small for price. I ordered the cauliflower appetizer and the avocado fries. The avocado fries were good. Just your basic avocado fries. The cauliflower dish was okay aside from the chipotle sauce they basically drowned it in. Flavors did not pair up at all. It was the same unexciting chipotle sauce as served with the avocado fries. I ordered salad to start but it didn 't come until after my dinner was finished for whatever reason. Our waitress was pretty much useless. We had two of them and they still couldn 't get the job done correctly. The salad was very smushy, almost as if it was sitting in the dressing for way too long. The dressing was too sweet. The shrimp were super dried out and did not seem fresh at all. As far as the main dish goes, it was a St Patrick 's Day special corned beef and cabbage. It wasn 't too bad. Clean, not too, greasy not too fatty. The slices were pretty thin but other than that it was good. The music was terrible and overwhelmingly loud. I definitely did not need to hear little Wayne rapping about venereal diseases and menstrual bleeds as I was trying to eat. Seats are also too close for comfort with neighboring tables unless you enjoy eating with strangers. And the bathroom was atrocious. The entire hallway and waitstaff area leading to the bathroom was also in disarray. The kitchen did not look any cleaner than the bathroom. The only thing that made my review two stars as opposed to one was the fact that the corned beef was actually pretty good.
