Dukes And Grill - Mechanicsburg

Stopped in for dinner this weekend. I had eaten at Dukes Riverside a few times, so wanted my wife to try Dukes and see how she liked it. Unfortunately, we were seated in an area that was directly under the ac vent, and for the entire time we were there, we were getting blasted with cold air. Generally, I am fine with ac, but this was like sitting in a freezer. We asked to be reseated, but server instead told us she would have Manager turn the ac up. Finally had to reseat ourselves, but was still getting the cold blast from the ac unit. Ate about half our dinner and then left, because it was so uncomfortable for my wife. Food was good, but whole experience was overshadowed by the cold air.

Updating my original review as Duke's is just not what it used to be. I'm not sure what's happening here. The food was just okay, not the quality it was. I ordered my burger cooked medium, which means to me it should have been nice and soft and pink in the middle. My burger arrived very well done and dry. I did point it out to our server, but she just kind of looked at me, so I asked for some mayo for it. Speaking of our server, she was polite and competent, but that's about it. Very flat affect, and not personable at all. The other staff I observed were walking around eating food from other various establishments, they were not trying to hide it at all. Overall, everyone was polite and smiled, but the genuine hospitality and customer service I experienced before was very much gone. We will probably go back sometime, it's convenient and accommodating, and the food isn't terrible. But it's no longer at the top of our list. We'll definitely consider other places first.

We had a party of 13 and they wouldn't take a reservation. My 81 year old sister got there at 4:15 an told them but until we had 5 people they would not seat them. Our party arrived between 4:30 ,4:45 but did not get seated until 5:45. Disappointed in a no reservation policy on the weekend evenings. Food came out fairly quickly and all the waitresses did a fantastic job. I tipped them 30% for a job well done and I told one of the waitresses. Won't be back here again. It was my second visit to your restaurant in over a month. Last time around memorial day I went to your riverfront location and enjoyed the food. Too bad you don't honor the military and accommodate them I read a poor review prior to me posting this one.

We enjoyed our meal very much. My husband had the meatloaf sandwich and had mashed potatoes and fried onions piled high. There was plenty of gravy to finish it off. I had ribs and a salad.

I highly recommend not ordering from this restaurant. The food is terrible and could make you ill. They serve low-quality meals, and if you come back to complain, they are unwilling to refund your money. I strongly urge you to steer clear of this place. The food seems old, and all three managers are quite disrespectful. Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant; eating here may lead to sickness. Additionally, they do not support military families who sacrifice for our freedom. Please stay away!
