Hemingway's Tavern - Melbourne

Fun and eclectic place, a bit loud. Our food was excellent, interesting choices. Our server was attentive (and was in training, it was great!). We felt the parts were generous. Clean. Great location at the cinema and behind the Melbourne Mall.

This was very good! Well deserved it?s rating I?d say. I got a mojito which was good (not the best I?ve ever had, but good). We started off with an order of the empanadas and were very happy with them. I got the snapper Hemingway, two of my friends got the skirt steak, and one got the snapper carbonara. We were all very happy with our meals. We finished with some sort of banana pudding thing that was also very tasty!

A true 5?? experience! We ordered the conch fritters for an appetizer (the sauce was amazing), my wife ordered the Cuban sandwich and the Caesar wedge salad, I ordered the grouper tacos, my daughter ordered the Mac and cheese and a bowl of fruit, and we had the pineapple upside down cake for dessert. The food got better with every single bite. The customer service was great, and it was a perfect evening for outside dining. I wish we lived closer so that we could eat here more often. Highly recommend!

Delicious! Relaxing vibes. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air. It was chilly and they had heaters to keep their guests warm by every table. Conch fritters were tasty. I wasn?t a huge fan of the conch chowder but it?s definitely edible. The entrees were both delicious. Kiddos meals the Mac n cheese and chicken tenders with fries and fresh fruit were demolished. Would recommend! Our waiter Ky was excellent and the hostesses were personable.

I?m vegan and was visiting Florida. Tried the vegan chickpea patty tacos with red pepper aioli and radish, with a side of beans and rice. LOVED IT!! The portion was generous and the taste was out of this world!! PROS: Decadent and vegan option with many layers of taste CONS: There was only one main vegan option. Would love to see more options on the menu because you have excellent chefs who can execute it, as was evident from the vegan tacos The hostess said she would recommend the steak and snapper while she was taking me to seat me. When asked about the vegan option she just said ?talk to your server?. I would recommend to not do that, as being vegan I do not see animals as food objects, and that question put me in a not so pleasant mood. Please do not assume that everyone who walks in eats animals.
