The Union Club Hotel - Melbourne

Standard pub menu containing a number of 'parma' choices, burgers etc. Usual offerings at the bar and a warm, friendly environment to relax in a number of different rooms and spaces including a dining room, Rooftop beer garden and lush indoor garden area. The interior spaces are, at times, such relics of old school pub fit-outs that they're practically chic again. Located in a leafy part of Fitzroy that feels very suburban and relaxed, despite being only a short block from Smith Street Collingwood. You have your pick of outstanding pubs in practically every direction when in Fitzroy, but I'd happily return for an afternoon beverage or a Mexican chicken parmigiana.

Our dinner here was relaxed, enjoyable and worth repeating. The Union Club is an unreconstructed inner city pub with a small range nice dishes and a range of different seating areas from the traditional front bar to a rooftop space. These different seating areas allow everything from loud gatherings to a quiet meal or drink.

Decor and atmosphere great for reason - it's authentic. Please don't change. Lovely place for a quiet drink and catch up with mates.

Best pub in Melbourne. Fact. Unless you like dancing and noise and terrible music. It's filled with quiet liked minded patrons with different little nooks everywhere - fire side, beer garden, rooftop and sitting at the bar. Always good wine too.

Been to the Union Club about 4 times now. I like the building, décor and meals however I cannot get decent bar service. Staff seem to be a mixture of students or backpackers and will serve you when they have finished having a little chat or polishing a glass. They have no awareness of who to serve next. It's a small thing however it tends to put one off a place. Otherwise the Carlton draught is lively and cold and the rest of the place is OK.
