It had been a while since I dined here and was hoping to be blown away. But, while the service was wonderful, the food was not what I expected. My Mrs Mary salad was brown on the edges of all the lettuce and looked like a pre bagged lettuce salad kit that was at the end of its life and should be put on managers special. Very disappointing. Chick Fil A has a prettier side salad. Not rocket science guys. The fettuccine was somewhat dry and the Piccata Di Vitello was delicious while the veal was dry which made the entire dish seem as if it was rushed out to the table. The atmosphere and service made up for the food quality but at these prices the food should be consistently perfect especially since this is from a long standing Memphis restaurant family. Overall, I feel let down and sure hope they do better. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Phenomenal food. Seriously. Two weekends in a row we had the memorable meatball appetizer. The meatballs were the perfect texture and the red sauce matched the meatballs in depth of flavor. All that was needed was some pasta and the dish would have completed the night. The entree was redfish over creamy risotto topped with shrimp. The fish was cooked perfectly and the creamy risotto had a delicate flavor that paired with the fish superbly. The latest choice was their weekend special lobster ravioli. All I can say is that I swooned over it. The ravioli had lumps of lobster and the sauce was a vodka tomato cream sauce with fresh grape tomatoes peeking through. Impressive presentation and a taste bud explosion. The chopped salad was terrific as was the tiramisu. Gristanti’s has my vote for one of the best restaurants in Memphis. I am beyond impressed. Can’t wait for my next visit. Yum. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
None of the Grisanti family restaurants ever disappoint. Ever! Some of the very best authentic Italian you will get in this city and I am including all of them. I have had just about everything on the menu at this one and it all was wonderful. Service is always good as well. If you haven't been here you need to try as soon as possible. It's great!!
Worst experience at a Grisanti's restaurant!!!! #1 the server wasn't attentive to our wants or needs, we had to ask for every single thing and did not bother to check on our table of four, we had to ask other waiters for bread, water, etc . #2 After going through the spill of specials, waiter informed us at 6:45 that they were out of the special my husband ordered how are you out that early in the evening but whatever) so he ordered a different special and he said it was actually very good. #3 One of the guest at our table ordered chicken parm and it was so tough, he couldn't eat it and of course our waiter didn't bother to check on us and we had to ask another waiter to help with the inedible dish and she argued and said she took it back and was able to cut it with a spoon right, I guess he should have used a spoon instead of a knife). And to end the evening, I informed waiter that we had to ask for every single thing and he was unapologetic which made the experience even worse with his smarty attitude. We were treated as though we had asked for a full complimentary dinner and we had NO INTENTIONS of that at all. Would have been nice to just have a nice Italian dinner at a place that used to be a special, nice experience...... this was a sign of SMELLING LIKE A BUSINESS THAT IS SOON TO BE OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!
