Meals were amazing value for money huge portions (took some of it home). Not your usual standard chain menu. Definitely recommend home made broccoli stilton quiche, proper chunky chips . Bit in the middle of nowhere but worth going to.
Lovely building but unfortunately terrible staff . they are rude and incompetent. avoid please can we have real people to serve us
We arranged a family lunch. It was a large group of us (13 adults and one child) so we booked in advance. When we arrived the pub was very busy and we were concerned that our large order may take some time to be cooked and would it all arrive at the same time. We need not have worried. The food arrived in good time and all of it was brought to the table virtually together. My steak pit was absolutely delicious and there were only complimentary comments from the rest of the group. The quality of the chips received was highlighted. The quality of the food and the exceptional service made the lunch a really enjoyable experience. The Queen Victoria is well worth a visit.
Five of us went to the queen Victoria Inn for dinner. Being late in December we were worried that we may not get a table, however we did not have a problem as we had several options. Both the service and the food were very good. Would certainly recommend a visit.
What a fab tradional pub. X2 warm real fires, cosy, excellent service with a smile, amazing food at fair prices. The steak ale pie and Mediterranean quiche were Stunning, as were the chips...crisp fresh. Where have you been all my life? We will come again....very memorable...x
