El Barrio - Mérida

Delicious and fresh, and the staff are very kind and helpful. We ordered the French toast and the tetela con salsa de mole — both were filling and tasty!

Came here solely because of the reviews and it did not disappoint! The french toast was to die for we came back again just for it! breakfast sandwich(vegetarian version) was so delicious I highly recommend both of those! The staff was very friendly and one of them speaks English. You won’t be disappointed with anything you eat there. I’ll definitely go back again next time I’m in town!

All I can say El barrio is the spot to enjoy delicious food made freshly with quality ingredients. Visited this restaurant last year and yes amazing will not disappoint. Do not leave without trying their French toast, huge portion for two people.

I had lunch here with friends and the quesabirria was delicious. Perfect portion and great preparation. Pamela served me and her service and English skills were impeccable. There’s also wifi! There are ceiling fans, but no air conditioning, so that would be on my wish list. It’s a great spot and I expect to return.

El Barrio was clean and the location is great since it’s just a block or two off the Main Street. Our server seemed to be the only waiter and cashier but the place was small enough for him to keep up. Maybe six tables total. They were very kind and attentive but we were also sitting right in front of them. The ambiance and aesthetic of the place was cute af! Reminds me of a typical hipster cafe in Portland, OR. The prices almost match as well since it is a bit on the pricey side but what do you expect when it’s close by Main Street? Also, it’s organic foods. The prices are very much justifiable. The food was delicious and the portions are filling. I enjoyed the horchata con cacao sooo much I ordered another one to go! I’m trying to think of at least two complaints I’d have for this place but to be honest, I can’t even think of one. I guess just try to avoid going when they are busy as their food is prepared to order and it can take a while. We waited about 25 minutes more or less for all our food to be prepared and served.
