Applebee's - Metairie

My son and I dined at this restaurant last week, and everything was fantastic! Our waiter, Chris, was attentive, accurate, and very friendly. I could hear him interacting with other customers in his section, and he was excellent with all of them. He also recommended a new dessert called Zimtstiche, and oh my goodness, it was so delicious! I can definitely see myself coming here on my own. I was a bit disappointed by Little Caesars on David Drive (check out my other review for that), so it was refreshing to eat at a place where the employees genuinely care, are professional, and treat their customers with kindness and attention!

The service was incredibly slow, taking about 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. We weren’t greeted when we arrived, and eventually, a bartender took our drink orders. After that, a waiter finally came by to take our food orders. Once we finished eating, we had to wait another 20 to 30 minutes for the check. Eventually, another waitress had to come over and ask if we could get our bill so we could leave. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

We had a wonderful dining experience this time. We had been avoiding Applebee's due to poor service in the past, but this visit was truly delightful. Our server, Christopher, was outstanding. He memorized all five of our orders without needing to write anything down and confirmed each order with us. Everything arrived promptly and accurately. He was very attentive and truly deserves recognition for the excellent service he provided. All the negative experiences we had before were quickly forgotten because this time was absolutely fantastic.

One of our favorite spots for birthdays! The atmosphere is friendly, the food is delicious, the prices are great, and the staff is really nice.

My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant on a Thursday night when it was quite slow. The service was just okay; for instance, the server brought us a nearly empty bottle of steak sauce and didn’t check on us after delivering our food. However, that’s not the main reason I gave this restaurant a one-star rating. The building itself appeared dirty, and the booth we were seated in had a ceiling that was literally moldy. Additionally, there was a musty smell as soon as we walked through the doors.
