Mawi Nola - Metairie

I was excited to try this restaurant but I was very disappointed, first of all is a very limited menu, I think a food truck has more options Tasteless food, got a baleada and I got store bought tortilla.... pupusas have no taste will Not be returning anytime soon I don't recommend How do you called yourself tortilla and your baleada flour tortila is not made from scratch.

Small latin restaurant with lots of flavor! Went to Mawi for the second time and shared a couple of plates with my friend. The owner gave us a couple of recommendations. We got: Pork Tamale: yummy! Birria Tacos: very flavorful and delicious to dip in the broth Chicharron and Queso Pupusa, Spinach and Cheese Pupusa: these were both good but I preferred the chicharron ones! Both good with the slaw and red sauce it comes with Horchata: so good I finished it quickly They have a fridge full of stuff to go. I got the shrimp ceviche and tres leches. I've had better but they were both fresh and good quality. Need to go back asap!

Great food, quick service, and friendly staff! They recently opened their new dining area and it’s a great place to sit down and eat since there are many tables to choose from (guests seat themselves). Some of my favorites are the chicken tamales, Honduran tacos, and the pupusas!

Best Birria an au jus in the greater nola area.Only had one bad experience out of the many time I’ve eaten there. I called and the manager apologized and offered me a refund. The guacamole is also really good, but it has a tad bit to much lemon juice and onion those flavors overpowered the other ingredients. Great customer service will always make up for a less than favorable experience. I will definitely go back.
