Írjon visszajelzéstThe place where we wanted to go (La Winstub) was closed for summer vacations, so we went to this nearby restaurant based on Tripadvisor recommendations. It looked nice and convivial. My wife ordered carpacio, my son and I shared the fondue savoyarde. The carpacio was OK, nothing special but there was nothing wrong with it. The fondue, however, was a complete disaster. It was delivered on an old, dirty, worn-out rechaud which was impossible to regulate. Flames were coming out of orifices left and right and the cheese was completely overheated. We pushed the caquelon to the side and rotated it and kind of managed to keep the cheese from burning too badly. But the worst problem was that the cheese was separated into solids and liquids. This is a typical beginner's problem with cheese fondue (tip to the restaurant: try adding a little corn meal next time...). We tried to eat it but this separated mess just tasted all wrong. With cheese fondue, the flavor is mainly in the liquid parts, not in the solids, and the liquid stayed in the caquelon so what was on the bread that you eat was a stringy mass with all of the taste of chewing gum chewed for an hour.We tried to get the waiter's attention which took quite a while. There were two, but one disappeared for long periods of time somewhere, the other was two tables over chatting with his friends. After at least 5 minutes he deigned to come over. We explained what was wrong and he just extinguished the flame on the rechaud and said 'it will firm up.' We doubted very much that this would help (we have a lot of experience with fondue; we used to live in Switzerland and make it often at home) but we let him do it. Of course, exactly what we expected happened: the whole thing turned into a disgusting, lukewarm congealed mess. After this we had enough. We asked for the bill which was placed on our table. I put my credit card on it and waited for the waiter to come and get it. But he was again chatting to his friends. We waited some more. This was getting ridiculous. We called him, he pointedly ignored us. At this point I took the bill and CC and walked down to the back of the room where the other waiter had now appeared. Now the first waiter ran after me, told me I should have waited at the table for him and said that he had just been busy. Right!I don't even want to mention that we never got our water refilled. We had asked for water (carafe d'eau) with our drinks and they brought a small bottle for the three of us. We asked twice for more water, they never brought any more. I should note that the place was at best half-full, so it was not that the two waiters were really busy. The waiters made it very clear that they were not at all interested in us and that chatting with their buddies had way higher priority, even though our meal was barely edible.
Came here for a quick dinner on a Saturday with our 9 month old son. Had delicious wagyu & black angus beef on hot stone. Host and waiter were both very nice :)
Went looking for fondue this evening and searched this place out on trip advisor. We enjoyed fabulous meal of cheese fondue and meat cuisson. Recommended without hesitation.
Unfortunatly we didnt get to eat here as they only served the fondue in the evening and we had the children with us so needed a more child friendly restaurant. However our host gave us a free beer whilst we were deciding what to do and gave our children lollipops to take away. Will definitely eat here one day.
Thoroughly enjoyed our two fondues at this small establishment. We had a bourguignon (Angus steak) and cheese (Savoyard) with a selection of bread, roast potatoes and a nicely prepared salad. Lovely wait staff who were happy to explain and make suggestions.
