Carlton Room Café - Miami Beach

No table service and no decafe expresso...says it all.

Location and hotel was closed I crossed there at 11/19/2020 spent gas and time ! Please update the information ..

TLDR: really nice Art Deco style coffee shop in a hotel lobby. ___ Searching for some morning fuel near my hotel I came across this shop on Yelp, just two blocks away. They are Serving panther coffee, which is a popular local toaster. I got an Iced latte. It was excellent. It's the same amount of coffee regardless of size so go for a small to save on the milk if you just need a morning pick me up. In the lobby of the Betsy hotel, anyone can come in and grab a coffee. It's decorated Very nice and has that famous south beach, Art Deco style decor. Various baked goods available. I got a little croissant for the walk. It was good! I really enjoyed the coffee, especially after having a meh coffee somewhere else the morning before.

I had a disappointing experience at the coffee shop when a staff member, an African-American woman, raised her voice at us. She noticed we were working on our computer and accused us of just sleeping on the couch. This behavior felt rude and unwelcoming, and because of that, we won't be returning. Hospitality is important, and I hope they can improve in that area.

They automatically add a 20% tip for poor service, don’t provide a detailed bill, and the staff is unfriendly. Overall, I would rate this experience 2 out of 5.
