Captain's Tavern - Miami

Captain's Tavern has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. Now turning 22 tomorrow I’m headed there for another birthday dinner. I love the atmosphere and the food is great. You are definitely getting your moneys worth.

Personally, it’s my favorite restaurant but I offer these tips. Go there on the weekdays as the weekends can get too packed so service is limited. Order wine they got a great selection. Rustic environment, great fresh seafood and service that is worth a great tip. My favorite is the conch chowder they serve with brandy and the bread pudding desert. Try it you won’t be disappointed.

Anyone that would say this restaurant is good would have to be on crack. The food is rubber. Two for 1 lobster special...two words...no sharing. Why bother? I ordered Admiral's Feast and everything on the plate tasted like rubber and not good rubber. We had a large party and so naturally they added 15% gratuity which I totally understand, but the waitress took the liberty of rounding her tip up. The menu states 15%, but apparently customers do not get to choose at this restaurant is they want to leave a larger tip! Atmosphere: Loud. Friends who ordered the lobster special were not particularly impressed. One friend would describe this restaurant as pedestrian at best. You are better off going to Red Lobster.

I have been to many restaurants but Captain's Tavern is to me one of the greatest finds. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food superb, love the Caribbean and Italian flavors. (I am also from the islands). I have taken all my friends and family members there. I have also recommended this restaurant to a lot of friends. Keep up the good work.

I've eaten regularly at Captain's Tavern in the 90s since I worked on the street. It was also one of my mother's favorite restaurants. When she got too sick to go, we ordered a family size paella so we could all enjoy. I decided to go on the 26th of this month to celebrate my birthday with my family (14 of us). The staff went beyond us, our waitress was brilliant, the children enjoyed looking at the fish in the big aquarium, we were all very satisfied with our meals. I had the Lobster Newburgh, OMG, it was tasty also enjoyed a delicious margarita, I was also surprised with a delicious slice of key lime cake the staff sang happy birthday to me. All in all, it was worth a return, I will make sure that continue to enjoy the delicious food.
