When I arrived, I was given the wrong order at first because the wrong bag was labeled with the receipt. Fortunately, the host ran outside to catch me and swapped the orders for both of us before we left. Overall, the food quality is still excellent; I think next time I’ll choose to dine in rather than order to go.
I was really disappointed with the portion sizes given the high prices. It feels like a total rip-off.
Another time, I ordered the curry tofu. While it did have some flavor, there were only four small pieces of tofu. If I'm paying over fifteen dollars for a meal, I expect the portions to be reasonable. Both times I ordered a California roll without imitation crab, they forgot my sauce—which is understandable since mistakes happen with takeout orders. However, this time they also omitted the cream cheese, which is the best part of a California roll. I always tip because I used to be a hostess and server, and I understand how chaotic the service industry can be. But after repeatedly having my orders messed up, paying $10 for a roll with cucumber and tiny pieces of avocado, and then leaving a $5 tip for such an unfulfilling meal, I felt compelled to speak up for the first time in my life.
The soup contained just one mushroom and a piece of chicken about the size of a tablespoon. That was it.
I had a fantastic experience with traditional Japanese cuisine at this restaurant. The service was excellent, and the decor truly reflected a traditional Japanese style. The ambiance was enhanced by music that perfectly matched the moment.
